An introduction to Trump’s Muslim Ban
Donald Trump during his election campaign criticized Barack Obama and his predecessors for not being strict on immigration and border control mechanisms during their tenures as presidents. Trump vowed to stop the inflow of immigrants from the Muslim-majority countries to the United States of America once he wins the elections.True to his promise, Trump issued an executive order on the 27th of January, 2017 to lower the number of refugees to 50,000 a year. The Executive order 13769 abolished Syrian Refugees program and slapped a ban on the entry of citizens from seven Muslim-majority countries including Syria for 90 days. The Trump’s Muslim ban order is also controversial in nature due to its preference for Christians over Muslims refugees.
Why Judge overruled Trump’s Muslim Ban?
Almost immediately after the order was issued, people across the United States filed appeals in the federal courts. The courts ruled in favor of suits and stopped the executive branch from enforcing central parts of the order. The Temporary restraining order allowed Syrian refugees and citizens of the seven Muslim countries to enter the United States. The court ruled against any discrimination based on the religious affiliation. The distinguished judges were of the view that the order is against the spirit of religious freedom and individual liberty.
Reaction to the ban in the US
The Democratic Party was united in condemning the harsh laws that Trump introduced. Many prominent faces from the Republican Party also joined the opposition. Lawyers across the country gathered at airports to protest against the order and offered legal help for the citizens trapped there.
Revised Trump’s Muslim ban
Donald Trump used some harsh words in his Twitter message when a judge overturned his executive order.

Why the Trump’s Muslim ban order can be counter-productive?
The initial order banned Iraqi citizens from entering the United States was heavily criticized by the Iraqi government and people. Baghdad issued a statement calling the order an attack on the spirit of their alliance to defeat terrorism and extremism. The government in Baghdad was of the view that the ban will provide the militants more fuel to brainwash young minds. The US administration eventually removed Iraq from the new Trump’s Muslim ban executive order.
The provisions of a ban on Muslim majority countries and the preference of Christians over Muslim refugees will also yield a new enmity between Muslims and Christians. The order will also increase polarization among different religions in the United States of America.
The important thing to note is that extremists and terrorists always exploit young minds by giving them a reference of the cruelties carried out by the west and Western-supported governments against Muslims in Palestine, Kashmir, Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan and other places. The discriminate Trump’s Muslim ban order will further increase the alienation of the Muslim youth across the globe
.
Generosity to accept refugees from the across the world has brought the most talented people to the US. The Trump’s Muslim ban will stop the inflow of that talent and will also shatter the dreams of many individuals who want to excel in life.
What is the bottom line?
The United States of America has every right to protect its land from illegal immigrants and potential terrorists, but orders of such kind only yield hatred among different sections of the society. The Trump’s rhetoric against Muslims during elections, the rising Islamophobia and racial tensions are some of the problems that American is facing today, and Trump’s Muslim ban will only increase that.
The Trump’s Muslim ban order will also negatively affect religious harmony in the Europe and other parts of the world. The fact that hatred against Muslims in the US is increasing is evident from the recent murder of a Muslim girl in Virginia outside a mosque. The differences in our religions will remain forever, but the thing we can do is to set aside those differences and agree to the minimum common agenda as said by the Holy Quran.
